GCP Client Wins 4 Lucrative West Hollywood Licenses

In June of 2018 Green Consulting Partners (GCP) worked with Brian Robinson and Pleasure Med to submit an application for four different license types in West Hollywood. West Hollywood has unanimously been considered California’s most competitive cannabis licensing process to date. GCP and Pleasure Med were one of over 300 applications submitted to the City.

After 6 months of waiting we are proud to announce that Pleasure Med was awarded all four licenses for the applications it submitted. Notably, GCP and Pleasure Med received top five scores in the consumption lounge and delivery applications, and we received the 3rd highest ranking for both the medical and adult-use dispensary applications. Accordingly, Pleasure Med has been chosen to move forward with obtaining their edible, vaporizing, and smoking consumption lounge license, as well as their medical and adult-use dispensary licenses with delivery.

This was a monumental accomplishment for GCP due to the sheer amount of competition that was involved in West Hollywood’s cannabis licensing process. Back in June, the city received over 300 applications and only 18 applicants were awarded licenses. GCP and Pleasure Med turned in four (4) applications and collectively received 100% of the licenses that we applied for in the city!

The city expressed they were “truly impressed with the quality and the caliber of the applications that the city received. Many of the proposed businesses were unique, innovative, and world class.”

The City’s announcement has generated significant media buzz – major outlets, including Ganjapreneur, have been covering the story. Pleasure Med’s renderings were featured in an article by WeHoVille, and Eater Los Angeles projects that Pleasure Med and the other licensed West Hollywood cannabis businesses “could place West Hollywood on par with Amsterdam, Netherlands for cannabis tourism, and maybe eventually surpass it.”

Going into West Hollywood’s application process GCP knew it was going to be highly competitive and would require seamless collaboration to submit a top-ranking application. We were fortunate enough to work with Mr. Robinson, whose existing ties to West Hollywood, including ownership of the Pleasure Chest, were essential. Mr. Robinson and GCP worked tirelessly to coordinate with architects, engineers, doctors, and security contractors to expeditiously get us to this point of the process. Jason Massaband executed a magnificent design that takes elements of old Havana Apothecaries and incorporates them into the retail atmosphere.

We are excited to work with Pleasure Med and the City of West Hollywood to bring this project to fruition. Keep your eye out because this unique boutique cannabis dispensary and lounge could be open as early as Summer 2019.
